Workshops

The Guild's Teaching Committee selects and offers workshops on all aspects of weaving and spinning.
Workshops may be held midweek or on the weekend.
Classes are held at the Guild rooms unless otherwise specified.

Treasures Nests: Form, Layers & Textures in the 3rd Dimension
13-14 March 2017

Treasures Nests: Felt Bowls

Cost: $285 (Members) | $325 (Non members)
$15 materials paid directly to tutor.

The class covers sculpting techniques using wool and novelty fibres, and explores felt-specific techniques for surface design including fibre blending, pattern inlay, using 'unusual' fibres (and common fibres in an 'unusual' way!), applying stitch and mixed media. Discover the possibilities through individual projects and make your mark in 3D form.

A class full of creative adventures and serious fun.


Jewellery adorned – Felting on a Precious Scale

Learn a variety of innovative felting techniques to make uniquely shaped jewellery components: beads, necklaces, earrings, brooches, bracelets and bangles to name a few! Using hand-dyed Fine Merino wool and other fibres, we explore the wondrous world of wet-felting on a precious scale.

A hands-on workshop with lots of demonstrations and playtime, resulting in inspired creations finished to a high standard.
